SK Design Group provided all of the civil engineering services for this $180 million state-of-the-art cancer research facility, which officially opened in 2001. SK Design was responsible for site analysis, site layout, site grading and site utilities. The Stowers Institute is located on a 10-acre research campus that houses laboratories, research support facilities, animal resource center, administration, and maintenance in a 600,000-square-foot complex.

The Stowers Institute conducts basic research into complex genetic systems to unlock the mysteries of disease and find the keys to their causes, treatment and prevention. It was founded
by Jim and Virginia Stowers, two cancer survivors who decided
to dedicate their fortune to supporting the basic research that will provide long-term solutions to gene-based diseases.
