We took a hands-on approach to sustainability last week by volunteering a few hours at ScrapsKC. ScrapsKC’s mission includes reusing and repurposing donated supplies and materials that would otherwise end up in landfills. Not only do they collect those resources for local teachers and artists, but they also provide volunteer opportunities and food for the homeless. During our volunteer shift, we learned about creative ways they’re repurposing plastic and helped organize donations.
